Process Standardization
Maximizer’s Teams Channel integration streamlines the connection between Maximizer opportunities and cases with Microsoft Teams channel, fostering efficient collaboration and information sharing.
User Permissions and Access
With the Teams Channel integration, Maximizer users maintain their existing permissions in Teams; there are no additional rights granted. Users who have the capability to create or modify teams and channel in the MS Teams interface can seamlessly perform these actions through the integration. Organizations should rely on Microsoft Teams permissions and access controls to regulate user actions and access within teams and channel.
Establishing Shared Collaboration Channel
Companies may opt to standardize the establishment of shared collaboration channel for each opportunity or case in Maximizer, ensuring a uniform corporate process that preserves the desired structure of their MS Teams corporate setup.
Each organization has the autonomy to define the organizational structure of linked channel within their MS Teams account. Typically, organizations designate one team in MS Teams for channel associated with Maximizer opportunities and another for those linked to Maximizer cases. Alternatively, channel can be grouped based on other parameters such as related products, associated revenue, etc.
Channel Assignment Process
The process for assigning channel to opportunities should be defined by each organization. Channel management can be either centralized or distributed among team members.
In a distributed channel management setup, when a user creates a new opportunity in Maximizer, they are responsible for creating a corresponding linked channel in MS Teams via the integration. Subsequently, they invite colleagues involved in advancing the opportunity through the pipeline to join the channel.
For organizations preferring centralized channel management, a dedicated individual oversees ensuring that every active opportunity or case has a dedicated Teams channel. They ensure the completeness of the list of channel members and link the channel to the corresponding opportunity or case in Maximizer.
Tip: If you require restricted access to the channel for specific team members, consider setting appropriate access rights during channel creation in Microsoft Teams. Subsequently, you can copy the channel URL and link it to the relevant opportunity or case in Maximizer using the “Paste URL” option in the Teams Channel dialog.
Troubleshooting
- You may encounter the following message when clicking on the MS Teams icon in Maximizer for your opportunity or case. This situation may occur if the channel has been deleted, or if the channel owner has altered the channel permissions or member list. You have the option to either remove the connection or link the opportunity or case to a different channel.
