Working with User-Defined Fields in Insights
Click here to watch How to Add User Defined Fields in Insights
User-Defined Fields are picked per database
To add User-Defined Fields; a user must have Maximizer Admin rights and also 'Read Access' to the fields s/he wants to add.
Security rules are not applied to User-Defined Fields added to Insights. Designers have access to all User-Defined Fields picked for Insights by Maximizer Admin.
A field position in the list of User-Defined Fields is extremely important.
- Go to Settings to choose User-Defined Fields for Insights.
- Only Maximizer admins can see Settings in Insights.
Any changes done on this page affect Insights dashboards for everybody in this data base.
- Keep in mind the following:
- User-Defined fields are picked per database; not per user; and are the same for all designers.
- An Admin can pick only User-Defined Fields s/he has rights to see.
- Security rules are not applied to User-Defined Fields in Insights the same way they do in the main product. Designers have access to all User-Defined Fields.

- A newly hand picked User-Defined Field takes first available position.
- A field position in the list of User-Defined Fields is extremely important. If you delete a field in Settings by mistake; add it back immediately. If another field takes this position; all widgets will now reference a new field.
- Current limit is 10 User-Defined Fields per module. Once the limit is reached; the +ADD button will be grayed out.
- All changes made in Insights settings will be processed during the next sync. Please; allow up to 24 hours.
