Maximizer Installation Or Upgrade On Existing SQL Server
Prerequisites
- You have downloaded the Maximizer CRM installer (typically; a Zip file).
- You have extracted the Maximizer CRM setup files into a directory.
- You have the following items readily available:
- Your Maximizer Customer ID;
- Your Maximizer PSN (Product Serial Number).
- Your PLNs (Product License Numbers).
For new servers hosting Maximizer; install all relevant IIS components before beginning the installation |
If your database and IIS are on separate servers; open port 5508 on both servers for bi-directional network traffic. |
Procedure
- Delete the MaConfig database from your SQL Server if it exists.
This is a Maximizer system database and will be re-created upon the installation of Maximizer - Run the Maximizer setup file as Administrator and proceed with custom install and deselect the Database components.
You are going to connect with your existing SQL Server
- Let Maximizer connect with your new MS SQL Server.
- Once the installation is completed; Install and activate the Product License Numbers ( PLN).
- Next Activate the PLN's by selecting the following:
- Maximizer Desktop Administrator Module
- Utilities
- Install Multi-User License.
- If you don’t see your address books at login page; Launch Maximizer Desktop Administrator Module
Next Select:
- File
- New Address Book
- Give a name to your MS SQL server in the database server drop-down list
- Provide the MASTER/SA OR Windows login to connect with SQL server.
You will perform the steps i) multiple times if you have multiple databases.
- Next; to complete the upgrade of Maximizer take the following steps:
Select:
- Maximizer Desktop Admin Module
- Utilities
- Upgrade Maximizer
- Select the last option from the upgrade listing
- Pick your database
- Input MASTER user id and password
- When asked to create a backup - Select "No"
- Synchronize your Maximizer user with SQL Server:

Launch your Maximizer Web access using browser and login to Address Books/Databases and ensure that everything is working as expected. |
