This article provides information about the Maximizer Enterprise 8 Service Release 1 Patch – Series 1425, which applies to the following versions:
- Maximizer Enterprise 8 – Series 1404 - Maximizer Enterprise 8 Hot Fix 1 – Series 1409 - Maximizer Enterprise 8 Hot Fix 2 – Series 1420 Additional information about Maximizer Enterprise 8 Service Release 1 – Series 1425 is available in the readme files, which are available for download from the following links:

If you have any of the following products installed, you must also update them to the versions indicated below, after you have applied the Maximizer Enterprise 8 Service Release 1 Patch:
- MaxExchange Server 8 – Series 1425 (Service Release 1) - Maximizer Customization Suite – Series 1425 (Service Release 1) - Accounting Link Designed for Use with QuickBooks – Series 1419 - MaxLink for the Palm OS – Series 1419

NOTES
1. Running the Service Release 1 Patch in Mixed Modes
The Maximizer Enterprise 8 Service Release 1 Patch has no database changes and can be used safely in a mixed mode of servers and workstations, as well as MaxExchange Synchronization remote servers and remote workstations, running a combination of the original Maximizer Enterprise 8 release and Maximizer Enterprise 8 Service Release 1.
2. Reinstalling the Service Release 1 Patch
If you have to reinstall the Maximizer Enterprise 8 Service Release 1 Patch, you must uninstall the patch before it can be applied again. Use the Add/Remove Programs option in the Control Panel to uninstall the patch.
3. MaxExchange Updates
This patch applies to Maximizer Enterprise and MaxExchange Remote only. Install MaxExchange Server 8 Service Release 1 for updates to MaxExchange Synchronization Server and MaxExchange Remote Synchronization Server.
4. New Wireless Employee Portal for Wireless PDAs
This patch does not include the new Wireless Employee Portal for Wireless PDAs. This functionality is only available with the Maximizer Enterprise 8 Service Release 1 CD – Series 1425. Please contact your Maximizer Reseller or Maximizer Sales at 1-800-804-6299 for product information or to order. |

To apply the service release patch, follow these steps:
1. Install the Maximizer Enterprise 8 Service Release 1 Patch – Series 1425. The patch is available for download from the following link:

NOTE: You must save the download to your computer before installing!
2. Follow the instructions in the Installation section below to apply the Maximizer Enterprise 8 Service Release 1 Patch – Series 1425 to all computers that are running any of the following versions: - Maximizer Enterprise 8 – Series 1404 - Maximizer Enterprise 8 Hot Fix 1 – Series 1409 - Maximizer Enterprise 8 Hot Fix 2 – Series 1420
NOTE: Do not uninstall the existing version before applying the patch.
3. Follow the instructions in the Installation section below to update the Maximizer companion applications listed at the beginning of this document.
INSTALLATION Installation instructions specific to each product version are provided below.
To Apply the Maximizer Enterprise 8 Service Release 1 Patch – Series 1425 1. Close all applications. 2. Open Windows Explorer and browse to the patch installation file you downloaded (ME8SR1.EXE). 3. Double-click the file to begin. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the patch. 5. Run Administrator and re-open each of your Address Books so the licenses that were applied before the patch will take effect.
To Update MaxExchange Server 8 to Series 1425 (Service Release 1) 1. Download MaxExchange Server 8 – Series 1425 from the following link:

2. Ensure that the Maximizer Enterprise 8 Service Release 1 Patch – Series 1425 has already been applied. 3. Close all applications. 4. Install MaxExchange Server 8 – Series 1425 (Service Release 1). 5. Run the Address Book Verification tool (File > Address Book Verification) from Administrator. 6. Perform system refreshes on all Remotes. 7. Run Address Book Folder Maintenance at all MaxExchange Servers, choosing the "Do not create maintenance data packets" option.
To Update the Maximizer Customization Suite to Series 1425 (Service Release 1) 1. Contact Maximizer Customer Service and Support or your local Business Partner to obtain a copy of Maximizer Customization Suite 8 – Series 1425 (Service Release 1). 2. Uninstall any existing installations of Maximizer Customization Suite. 3. Install Maximizer Customization Suite 8 – Series 1425 (Service Release 1).
To Update the Accounting Link Designed for Use with QuickBooks to Series 1419 1. Contact Maximizer Customer Service and Support or your local Business Partner to obtain a copy of the Accounting Link Designed for Use with QuickBooks – Series 1419. 2. Uninstall any existing installations of the Accounting Link Designed for Use with QuickBooks. 3. Install the Accounting Link Designed for Use with QuickBooks – Series 1419.
To Update MaxLink for the Palm OS to Series 1419 1. Download MaxLink for the Palm OS – Series 1419 from the following link:

2. Uninstall any existing installations of MaxLink for the Palm OS. 3. Install MaxLink for the Palm OS – Series 1419.
