Email Configuration Settings for Maximizer Web Access
Web Access Administrator
- Go to the Maximizer Web Access Administrator.
- Under preferences, select Email Server settings.

The name of your IMAP/SMTP server. |
| Port number |
The port number that your IMAP/SMTP server uses to communicate. |
| Encryption |
For IMAP, the encryption can be set to none or SSL. For SMTP, the encryption can be set to
none, SSL, or TLS. |
| Sent items folder |
The name of your sent items folder. If the stated folder name does not exist in your
mailbox, then any email being sent will not be saved. |
| Deleted items folder |
The name of your deleted items folder. If the stated folder name does not exist in your
mailbox, then any email being deleted will not be saved.
Requires Authentication Enable this option if your SMTP server requires authentication to send
emails. |
| IMAP and SMTP login credentials are the same |
Enable this option if the credentials to login to your SMTP and IMAP servers are the
same. |

Validate all email addresses when sending an email message |
Enable this option to check that email addresses are formatted correctly before sending
an email message. |
Maximizer Web Access
- Under Options, select Preferences.
- In the Preferences dialog, select the Email tab.

The user name that is used to log into your SMTP/IMAP server |

The password used by the login specified in the User ID field to log into your SMTP/IMAP
server. |
Configuring Maximizer Web Access for Gmail
Use the following settings to configure Maximizer Web Access to use a Gmail account as an

Troubleshooting Problems with SMTP Email Servers
| Problem |
Using SMTP email servers with transport layer security (TLS) in Maximizer Web Access. |
| Symptom |
Maximizer Web Access is unable to establish an SMTP server connection. |
| Resolution |
Ensure the following:
- The “Start Basic Authentication works after TLS” option in Microsoft
Exchange is disabled.
- The SMTP server uses a different port from SSL. By default, Maximizer uses
port number 25 for the SMTP server.
- The ports used by IMAP and SMTP are not blocked by a firewall on the email
server or the IIS server.
- The correct port number for IMAP and SMTP servers are saved in the Web
Access Administrator.
- The correct encryption is selected.

| Symptom |
Sent and deleted emails do not appear in sent items or deleted items folder. |

Ensure the following:
- The correct deleted folder is entered in the Deleted items folder field in
the Web Access Administrator.
- The correct sent folder is entered in the Sent items folder field in the
Web Access Administrator.
