Uninstalling Previous Versions of MaxMobile
If you have a previous version of MaxMobile installed, it is
important to uninstall it from the desktop and the device
before installing a new version. Otherwise, MaxMobile will
not function properly. Refer to the MaxMobile for BlackBerry
Getting Started Guide for information on uninstalling
MaxMobile from your device.
MaxMobile Wireless Synchronization Connection Methods
If you are not using BlackBerry Enterprise Server, MaxMobile
uses one of two different types of wireless connection
methods: WAP or Direct TCP. For WAP, you may be required to
specify the advanced settings for BlackBerry. For TCP, the
advanced settings for BlackBerry are not required, but you
may be required to specify additional settings on your
device. Typically, these settings are in Options > Advanced
Options > TCP. Check with your service provider for
information on these settings. Refer to the MaxMobile
Wireless Synchronization Server Getting Started Guide for
more information.
Refresh or Restart After Synchronization or Reset
After you have performed a synchronization or a reset,
restart MaxMobile or perform a search to refresh the data.
If you do not, entries that were deleted by the
synchronization are displayed on the device and the error
"Failed Loading form. NullReferenceException" appears when
attempting to open those entries.
System Fields
System fields do not exist on a device until a
synchronization is performed, as this operation creates all
system field values from the synchronized Address Book.
USB Synchronization Issue in Windows Vista
If you receive the message "Unable to retrieve properties of
the connected BlackBerry device" when performing a USB
synchronization from a Windows Vista computer, close
BlackBerry Desktop Manager and try again.
MaxMobile Licensing with MaxExchange Remote
When a user installs MaxMobile on a MaxExchange Remote, one
default license is installed for use with local Address
Books. The remote user must open the Address Book in
Administrator to apply this license. The user must also be
enabled for MaxMobile synchronization in the General tab of
user properties (File > Users > Properties).
MaxMobile licensing and user properties for enabled
MaxMobile users applied on the server are synchronized to
MaxExchange Remote Address Books (synchronized Address
Books).
Moving a Storage Card to Another Device
When an Address Book is on a storage card and the storage
card is moved to another device, duplicates may occur in
both MaxMobile and Maximizer after synchronizing with the
new device. You must perform a reset from Maximizer by
choosing Tools > Reset MaxMobile before synchronizing. For
more information on using the reset option, see the
MaxMobile Getting Started Guide.
BlackBerry Contact Integration
If you are using a BlackBerry operating system lower than
version 4.2, and you create a contact using the
Copy to BlackBerry Address Book command, the contact
is created, but it does not display in edit mode on the
device. On newer devices, the contact is displayed in
edit mode where you can modify the contact details.
MaxMobile Permissions for SMS

Interactions settings to Allow.
To set Interactions settings, follow these steps:
- Go to Options > Security Options > Application Permissions.
- Choose MaxMobile for BlackBerry, press the Menu key, and
select Edit Permissions.
