"You must select a Contact in order to" Message When Using MaxMobile Functions in the BlackBerry Call Log

Problem

When using the command “Create a MaxMobile Contact” or “View in MaxMobile” from the BlackBerry Call Log, you receive the message "You must select a Contact in order to ...", even if a phone number or name is selected.

Reason

A problem was introduced in the BlackBerry Operating System version 4.3 that results in the above issue.
