How to install the service pack
Apply this service pack to all computers running MaxExchange
Server or MaxExchange Remote Server.
- Close all applications.
- If MaxExchange Server Manager or MaxExchange Remote
Server Manager is running, shut down the application and
stop the MaxExchange Service (if applicable).
- Open Windows Explorer, and browse to the service pack
file (MX10SP1.exe).
- Double-click the file.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Issues Resolved In Detail
1. Outgoing Appointment Transactions are Doubled
Some transactions for appointments are duplicated in
outgoing packets. The duplicate transactions may cause
packets to become very large.
2. Packets Loop Between Server and Remote Server in n-Tier
Transactions for certain record types, including personal
appointment transactions, are sent repeatedly back and forth
in a loop between servers and remote Servers in an n-tier
environment. These repeated transactions may cause packets
to become very large.
NOTE: After the service pack is installed, any duplicate
transactions contained in unprocessed packets will be
distributed to all sites in the MaxExchange
environment. This will prevent any data loss caused by
applying the fixes. After installing the service pack,
it may take some time for transaction volumes to
return to normal levels.
3. MaxExchange Remote Loses Connection Settings
When restarting the MaxExchange Remote after returning from
sleep or hibernation state, the connection settings to the
server may be lost and need to be re-entered.
4. MaxExchange Remote Unexpectedly Closes Processing After Return From Sleep or Hibernation State
When a computer goes into sleep or hibernation state while
the MaxExchange Remote is running, the MaxExchange Remote
may close unexpectedly at the next processing session after
returning to its active state.
5. MaxExchange Remote Insufficient Permissions Error After First Log In To Windows
When the MaxExchange Remote starts after first log in to
Windows, an insufficient permissions error may occur.
