Applicability

  • MaxExchange Synchronization Server 8 Service Release 4A – Series 1518
    – or –
    MaxExchange Synchronization Server 8 Hot Fix 1 – Series 1641 must be installed before applying this update


  • – AND –

  • Maximizer Enterprise 8 Hot Fix 4 - Series 1641 or higher must be installed before applying this update

Overview

This software update is required only if you are using a Microsoft SQL database as your Maximizer Enterprise Address Book. This update should be applied to the MaxExchange Server and the MaxExchange Remote Server only. This software update includes MaxExchange Synchronization Server 8 Hot Fix 1 – Series 1641.

You can also install this hot fix in a mixed-mode environment, where the MaxExchange Synchronization Server is running MaxExchange Synchronization Server 8 Hot Fix 2 - Series 1649, but the remote machines may be running any of the following versions:

  • Maximizer Enterprise 8 Service Release 4A - Series 1518
  • Maximizer Enterprise 8 Hot Fix 4 - Series 1641
  • Maximizer Enterprise 8 Hot Fix 5 - Series 1648


Issues Resolved

Once this software update is applied, the following issues are prevented from occurring in the future:

  1. Column Setup Settings Not Synchronizing Properly
    When a MaxExchange Remote selected certain column setups and then synchronized with the central (Microsoft SQL) Address Book, Maximizer Enterprise workstations opening the central (Microsoft SQL) Address Book may experience the following:
    • Some Maximizer windows may not have opened
    • Some User drop-down lists may have appeared incomplete


  2. Opportunities Not Synchronizing Properly
    Under certain circumstances, when a MaxExchange Remote added a new opportunity and modified the selected team, the opportunity may not have synchronized properly to the central (Microsoft SQL) Address Book.

Instructions

To install this hot fix, you must be logged into Windows as an administrator.
  1. Click the Download link on this page to download this update.
  2. Close all applications.
  3. Open Windows Explorer and browse to the hot fix file (MX8HF2.exe).
  4. Double-click the file.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
