Applicability

  • Maximizer 9 Service Release 1 - Series 1633 – You must be running series 1633 before applying this update.

Overview

This software update contains a number of important corrections. All Maximizer 9 users are recommended to apply this update.

Issues Resolved

The following issues are resolved when this update is applied

  1. Issue with Address Book Verification
    Running an Address Book verification caused Administrator to close unexpectedly.


  2. Improved Support for Novell GroupWise 7
    When composing an email in Maximizer, you can now select recipients from a GroupWise Address Book.


  3. Support Added for ACT! 2007
    Maximizer has been updated to include support for importing from ACT! 2007 and ACT! Premium for Workgroups 2007.


  4. Duplicate UDFs Created During Data Transfer
    Transferring entries between databases by using the File > Transfer command may have resulted in the creation of duplicate user-defined fields. This issue pertained to both the Direct Address Book access and Email transfer methods.


  5. Phone Mappings for Outlook Synchronization Not Used
    When synchronizing between Maximizer and Outlook, default phone mappings were used instead of phone mappings that had been configured for Outlook.


  6. Goldmine 6.7 Data Not Importing Properly
    Attempting to import data from Goldmine 6.7 may have caused Maximizer to close unexpectedly.


  7. Printing Packing Slips and Invoices
    Previously, you could print packing slips and invoices from OrderDesk only if you selected the Preview button before selecting the Print button.


  8. Follow-up Task Not Logged
    Creation notes were not logged when creating follow-up tasks.


  9. Exporting Numeric Values to Excel
    Numeric values greater than 999 were not exporting properly from a column setup to Excel.


  10. Issue with Saving Phone Notes
    Changing the selected Address Book entry during a phone conversation and then trying to save a note to the newly selected entry caused Maximizer to close unexpectedly.


  11. Appointments Deleted After Data Transferred Back
    If you created appointments for an Address Book entry after transferring the entry to another Address Book, the appointments were deleted when the entry was transferred back.


  12. Searches Not Saved
    Searches may not have been saved to the search catalog.


  13. Key Field Issue
    You may not have been able to modify or delete newly created key fields.


  14. Email Preference Causes Unexpected Close
    Under certain circumstances, when your primary email system was set to "Other email system" in the Advanced Email Preferences dialog box (File > Preferences > Email > Advanced), Maximizer unexpectedly closed. This issue occurred after applying Maximizer 9 Service Release 1.

Instructions

  1. Click the Download link on this page to download this update.
  2. Close all applications.
  3. Open Windows Explorer and browse to the service pack file (M9SR1SP1.exe).
  4. Double-click the file.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Alternatively, you can check the availability of this update via Maximizer Live Update service.
  1. Open Maximizer or Administrator, select Help > Maximizer Live Update.
  2. Select the update to download and install (Maximizer 9 Service Pack 1 for Service Release 1).
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Post Installation Notes

After applying this update some post installation steps may be necessary.
  • After applying this update, it is possible to modify or delete newly created Key Fields definition. However, Key Fields created before applying this update cannot be modified or deleted.

    This has been address with Maximizer 9 Service Pack 2 for Service Release 1 - Series 1707

  • If your email preference was set to "Other email system" in the Advanced Email Preferences dialog box then it may be necessary to check this setting after applying this update.

    1. From Maximizer click File > Preferences. The Preferences dialog box appears.
    2. Click the Email tab and then the Advanced button. The Advanced Email Preferences dialog box appears.
    3. Make sure your desired primary email system is selected.
