This document describes how to completely remove Maximizer 9 from your system. It is strongly recommended that you thoroughly read this document prior to commencing the uninstall process in order that you are clear that you understand all of the steps involved.

Back up Important Files
Please Pay Attention to the Following Information Prior to Removing the Software:
Instructions for Uninstalling Maximizer 9
If previous versions of Maximizer exist, remove them, starting with the oldest version first. See the following Knowledge Base article for information on How to Uninstall Older Versions of Maximizer.
- Remove Maximizer 9
- Close Maximizer, MaxAlarm, MaxFinder or any other Maximizer Application.
- Select Start > Settings > Control Panel.
- Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
- For the following programs:
- Maximizer 9 Service Release 1
- Maximizer 9 Hot Fix 1 for Service Pack 1
- Maximizer 9 Service Pack 1
- Maximizer 9 Hot Fix 1
- Maximizer 9
Repeat the following steps:
Highlight program and click Change/Remove. When prompted click OK to confirm uninstall of program. If prompted to remove shared components, click No to All.
If the program does not appear in the list of programs, move on to the next Maximizer program.
- Restart your computer.
- Remove the Pervasive Workgroup Engine
Before removing the Pervasive Workgroup Engine, make sure it is not required by other application on your system.
- Select Start > Settings > Control Panel.
- Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
- Highlight Pervasive.SQL 9 SP1 Workgroup for Windows (9.1) and click Remove. Click Yes to confirm removal. If prompted to remove shared components, click No to All. Do not remove the Pervasive System Analyzer at this point.
- Restart your computer.
- Remove remaining Pervasive files and registry settings
- Select Start > Programs > Pervasive System Analyzer.
- Click Next at the Welcome screen.
- Select the Delete components or archives radio button and click Next.
- Verify that Local Machine is selected on the Delete Target screen and click Next.
- Select the Delete Pervasive.SQL components and registry settings and Delete Pervasive archives checkboxes. Click Next to continue.
- When prompted to confirm the removal of the Pervasive engine, click Yes and then Finish.
- Remove the Pervasive System Analyzer
- Select Start > Settings > Control Panel.
- Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
- Highlight Pervasive System Analyzer and click Change/Remove. If prompted to remove shared components, click No to All.
- Close Add/Remove Programs and exit the Control Panel.
- Restart the computer.
- Delete the common Maximizer and Pervasive program folders
Note: The following instructions assume a default installation of Maximizer.
- Using Windows Explorer, browse to the system's C:\ drive.
- Browse to the Program Files folder open the Common Files sub-folder.
- Delete both the Maximizer and Pervasive Software Shared sub-folders.
- Delete the Maximizer program folder.
- Using Windows Explorer, browse to the system's C:\ drive.
- Browse to the Program Files folder.
- Delete the Maximizer sub-folder.
- Delete the Pervasive program folders.
- Using Windows Explorer, browse to the system’s C:\ drive.
- Browse the contents of the C:\ drive and delete the PVSW and PVSWARCH folders.
- Remove Miscellaneous Maximizer files
- Select Start > Search > Files and Folders.
- Conduct searches for max9*.tsf, maxwin.ini, mxmail97.dll and wbtrv32.dll.
- In the event that the searches return any of these values, select and delete each one.
- Remove Maximizer and Pervasive registry entries
- Select Start > Run.
- Type REGEDIT and click OK.
- Click the "+" sign to the left of the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder.
- Click the "+" sign to the left of the Software folder.
- Select and delete the Maximizer Software folder (if present).
- Select and delete the Pervasive Software folder (if present).
- [Skip this step if using ecBuilder or Personal PageBuilder] Select and delete the Multiactive Software folder.
- Click the "+" sign to the left of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder.
- Click the "+" sign to the left of the Software folder.
- Repeat steps e to g.
- Exit the Registry Editor.
