Applicability

  • For customers using Maximizer Enterprise 8 with Microsoft Internet Explorer 7
    – or –
    customers implementing the eCRM Portals
  • Maximizer Enterprise 8 Hot Fix 4 – Series 1641 (both Server and Workstation) must be installed before applying this update.

Overview

This software update contains fixes to allow Maximizer Enterprise 8 to support Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.

Issues Resolved

The issue described below occurs after the installation of Microsoft Internet Explorer 7. This issue has been resolved.

  1. Daily and Weekly Calendar Views not Working Properly
    Opening the daily or the weekly calendar view generated a script error. Appointments were not displayed in the opened view.
  2. Unable to Log in to the Portals
    Attempting to log in to the Employee Portal, the Customer Portal, or the Partner Portal produced the message "You must have Internet Explorer 6+ to be able to enter the portal".

Instructions

To install this hot fix, you must be logged into Windows as an administrator.
  1. Click the Download link on this page to download this update.
  2. Close all applications.
  3. Open Windows Explorer and browse to the hot fix file (ME8HF5.EXE).
  4. Double-click the file.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Post Install Notes

If during the installation of this update a message appears stating that Maximizer Enterprise 8 Hot Fix 4 must be installed and Hot Fix 4 is already installed then please perform this alternate method of applying Hot Fix 5:

This hot fix contains two sets of files; the first set of files are for the Maximizer Enterprise workstation that is using Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and the second set of files are for the Maximizer Enterprise 8 eCRM server.

To apply this hot fix to Maximizer Enterprise workstation:
  1. Close Maximizer Enterprise, if running.


  2. Open Windows Explorer and browse to the MaData6\Calendar folder located under the Maximizer program folder. Typically, this is C:\Program Files\Maximizer\MaData6\Calendar\.


  3. Back up the following two files by moving them to a backup folder:
    • appointments_daily_print.html
    • appWinShare.js

    Alternatively, you may rename the files by clicking each file individually, pressing F2 and renaming the file extension to old. Example, appointments_daily_print.old and appWinShare.old .


  4. Click the following link below to download Maximizer Enterprise 8 Hot Fix 5.


  5. Double-click the file ME8_HF5.EXE. A program titled Maximizer 8 Enterprise Hot Fix 5 Self-Extracting Archive appears.


  6. Click the Start button to extract it's contents to the default location (C:\Unzipped).


  7. Copy the appointments_daily_print.html and appWinShare.js files from the C:\Unzipped folder to the MaData6\Calendar folder located in step 2.

It is now possible to use the Maximizer Enterprise 8 calendar window with Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.

To apply this hot fix to the Maximizer Enterprise eCRM Server (Maximizer Enterprise 8 IIS Server):
  1. To apply this hot fix to the Employee Portal:
    1. From the IIS Server, back up or rename the following files:
      • [Maximizer]\Portals\Employee\Content\Calendar\appointments_daily.html
      • [Maximizer]\Portals\Employee\Content\Calendar\appointments_monthly.js
      • [Maximizer]\Portals\Employee\Content\Calendar\appointments_weekly.html
      • [Maximizer]\Portals\Employee\Login.aspx
      * [Maximizer] = The Maximizer program folder which is typically C:\Program Files\Maximizer.


    2. Click the Maximizer Enterprise 8 Hot Fix 5 link below and download the ME8HF5.EXE file.


    3. Double-click the ME8_HF5.EXE file. A program titled Maximizer 8 Enterprise Hot Fix 5 Self-Extracting Archive appears.


    4. Click the Start button to extract the files into the default location (C:\Unzipped).


    5. Copy the following files in the C:\Unzipped\Employee folder to the [Maximizer]\Portals\Employee\Content\Calendar folder:
      • appointments_daily.html
      • appointments_monthly.js
      • appointments_weekly.html


    6. Copy the following file from the C:\Unzipped\Employee folder to [Maximizer]\Portals\Employee folder:
      • Login.aspx


  2. To apply this hot fix to Partner and Customer Portals:
    1. Back up the following files by moving them to a backup folder:
      • [Maximizer]\Portals\Partner\Login.aspx
      • [Maximizer]\Portals\Partner\LoginAdmin.aspx
      • [Maximizer]\Portals\Customer\Login.aspx
      • [Maximizer]\Portals\Customer\LoginAdmin.aspx
      * [Maximizer] = The Maximizer program folder which is typically C:\Program Files\Maximizer.


    2. Copy the following files in the C:\Unzipped\External folder to the [Maximizer]\Portals\Partner folder:
      • Login.aspx
      • LoginAdmin.aspx


    3. Copy the following files in the C:\Unzipped\External folder to the [Maximizer]\Portals\Customer folder:
      • Login.aspx
      • LoginAdmin.aspx
