Hot Fix 2 for Maximizer Enterprise 9 Service Release 1
  Question
This document describes issues addressed in Maximizer Enterprise 9 Hot Fix 2 for Service Release 1 - Series 1609.

This hot fix applies to the following versions, either of which must be installed before installing this hot fix:
  • Maximizer Enterprise 9 Hot Fix 1 for Service Release 1 - Series 1605
  • Maximizer Enterprise 9 Service Release 1 - Series 1552
This hot fix contains all fixes from Maximizer Enterprise 9 Hot Fix 1 for Service Release 1 - Series 1605. To view the list of issues addressed in this hot fix, please see the following Knowledge Base article:
Hot Fix 1 for Maximizer Enterprise 9 Service Release 1

IMPORTANT NOTE for MaxExchange Remote users who have not installed Maximizer Enterprise 9 Hot Fix 1 for Service Release 1 - Series 1605:
You must install Maximizer Enterprise 9 Hot Fix 2 for Service Release 1 before upgrading your Maximizer Address Book to version 9. Otherwise, the upgrading issue described in the release notes for Hot Fix 1 for Service Release 1 will not be resolved. However, all other issues described below are resolved by this hot fix, even if this hot fix is installed after upgrading the Address Book.

For more information about this issue, please refer to the following Knowledge Base article:
Hot Fix 1 for MaxExchange Synchronization Server 9 Service Release 1
To install this hot fix, you must be logged into Windows as an administrator. Install this hot fix on the server first, and then install it on the workstations.

You can also install this hot fix in a mixed-mode environment, where the server hosting the Address Book is running Maximizer Enterprise 9 Hot Fix 2 for Service Release 1, but the machines connecting to the Address Book may be running any of the following versions:
  • Maximizer Enterprise 9 Service Release 1
  • Maximizer Enterprise 9 Hot Fix 1 for Service Release 1
  • Maximizer Enterprise 9 Hot Fix 2 for Service Release 1
All issues described below have been resolved.
  1. When upgrading from Maximizer Enterprise 5, 6, 7, or 7.5 (Pervasive) to Maximizer Enterprise 9 (Pervasive), alphanumeric user-defined field values longer than 40 characters would be truncated to 40 characters after upgrade.

To resolve this issue, you must install this hot fix BEFORE UPGRADING YOUR MAXIMIZER ADDRESS BOOK TO VERSION 9. (Other issues described in this hot fix are resolved by this hot fix, even if this hot fix is installed after upgrading the Address Book.)

For more information about this issue, please refer to the following Knowledge Base article:
Conversion Truncates AlphaNumeric UDF Data at 40 Characters

  2. When moving a Contact Address Book entry to a different Company or Individual Address Book entry, if the Contact had related records in the Custom_Child table, those Custom_Child records would be deleted instead of being kept with updated Client_Id and Contact_Number.

  3. On Customer and Partner portals, a date comparison error occurred, which caused the following error message to appear:
This portal is currently either not enabled or is set for use with an invalid Maximizer Address Book. Administrators should modify their configuration file to enable. Try to login again later.

  4. When the Maximizer Enterprise 9 import utility attempted to import a table user-defined field item that didn't already exist in the target Address Book, it would create the new item. However, if the item contained more than 30 characters, it would create the item in the target Address Book whether it already existed or not, resulting in duplicate items. This issue applies to importing text-format files only, such as tab-delimited or comma-separated values (.csv) import files.
