  Question
This article provides information on documentation corrections for Maximizer and Maximizer Enterprise.

Maximizer Enterprise 9.5 Maximizer Enterprise 9 Customization Suite
  Answer

Maximizer Enterprise 9.5

  • Default single-user license

In the Administrator's Guide v9.5, the opening paragraph of the Installing Licenses section (page 90 for Microsoft SQL version or page 67 for Pervasive version) states that "Maximizer comes with a default single-user license." and that "...if you have the default single-user license and want to upgrade to eight licenses, you need a new PLN for seven users only, and you can apply it in addition to the original single-user PLN."

The above statement is incorrect for Maximizer Enterprise installations; it is only valid for Maximizer (retail) installations. For Maximizer Enterprise installations, there is no default single-user license.

Maximizer Enterprise 9

  1. Employee Portal for Wireless PDAs:

Page 250 of the Maximizer Enterprise User's Guide incorrectly states that Opportunities can be added via the wireless portal. Opportunities can only be viewed via Employee Portal for Wireless PDAs.

  2. Customization Suite – DatabaseHook:

The DatabaseHook allows a third-party COM object to track add, edit, and delete actions for Client, UDF, Note, and Opportunity records.

The DatabaseHook feature was removed from the Maximizer Enterprise 9 and 9.5 Customization Suite documentation, for technical reasons, but is now supported with Maximizer Enterprise 9 Service Release 2 (and later) and Maximizer Enterprise 9.5 Service Release 1 (and later).

Click the link below for a PDF document. This document is appropriate for Maximizer Enterprise 9 Service Release 2 and Maximizer Enterprise 9.5 Service Release 1.

The document is provided in PDF format and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader software to view. If you do not have the Adobe Acrobat Reader, it is available from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/main.html.

If you wish to download the document, right-click on the link and choose the Save menu option (e.g. in Internet Explorer, this option is Save Target As).

  3. On page 294 of the Customization Suite - API Guide v9.5, it states that a valid window parameter for the ActivateWindow function is 'Campaign'.

This is incorrect, the 'Campaign' value is not supported for Maximizer Enterprise v9.5.

Calling ActivateWindow with 'Campaign' will result in a GetLastError of -100 (Invalid parameter 1 passed).
